"Robin’s house near Vashist above Manali is the ideal place to acclimatise in the foothills. The walk up the hill is a struggle the first time but quickly becomes easier and fun meandering through the open forest. Good training for experiences to come. The incredible view from her house up and down the Kullu Valley makes it all worthwhile and the warm accommodation, simple and clean, is only excelled by the sit down western toilet (phew) and the availability of hot water in the shower room. All this overlooking Yoga’s famous flower garden and apple orchard. So many fond memories."
