"Trekking in the Indian Himalaya can be fraught with difficulties unless you choose a person to assist you, who has a wealth of experience in this field. 16 days trekking through the unspoilt mountains of Zanskar and Ladakh gave us a wonderful array of experiences. We met local yak herdsmen, families herding goats, encountered Bharal, Marmots & were on the trail of the elusive Snow Leopard!

We crossed five mountain passes up to 5,300m... so watching one's wellbeing was in Robin's safe hands. Daily she monitored us. Experience, professionalism and personalised attention is paramount in these remote areas. Robin speaks the local language which is a huge bonus. Himalaya High Adventures use only experienced people whether it be mountaineers/guides, cooks or horsemen. Mixing with local people & going into their homes is the only way to see & understand how these gentle Himalaya mountain people live -a simple lifestyle in such a harsh environment. We recommend that you choose Himalaya High Adventures and with Robin Ross you will not be disappointed."

Himalaya Trekking

On Indian Himalaya Locally Assisted camping treks, you have an English speaking, experienced local guide/cook and horseman full time, while on trek.  Before and after the trek you have local assistance from our guides where necessaryin India, to give you security. You can ‘Seek the Snow Leopard’, see wildlife on ‘Ancient Trails’ & trek over high passes in Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh from 5-25 days.

There's no tour leader so you have more freedom, yet you are assisted, to minimise the hassles. From the airport until your departure, assistedsupport gives you comfort and security yet leaves you free to move at your own pace.

If you are unsure about your Indian Himalaya road safari tour in a remote location, we will help and suggest.

Camping in Alpine style tents in true Himalaya style with your luggage carried on our horses or by our porters. A cook prepares delicious meals and has chai and soup awaiting you at the end of a hard day trekking. Indian dinners with English breakfasts is a great combination.

All you have to do is walk, enjoy and arrive in camp. There are no set chores but you are welcome to help if you wish.
